Living in Canada, we all know that the winters, as beautiful as they are, can start to make life feel mundane. The memories of summer feel like another life, and our Canadian towns can start to feel and actually look grey. The short days may be taxing us, and we notice that socializing generally slows down. We’re here to inspire you to take another view on these activities we’ve grown to love as Canadians. Through the help of psilocybin, and regular microdosing, we can start to build new pathways, and begin a healthy change in our mental health. While taking psilocybin on its own cannot necessarily cure depression, or other mental health issues, it is a very powerful medicine when combined with other healthy activities that also promote brain development.

Ice Skating/Hockey
Ice skating has been a classic Canadian activity since its introduction in 1840. This led to growing popularity and ultimately the creation of hockey as we know today! With cold winters in Canada, this can be a unique and magnificent pastime. However, many people in Canada have never played or have not played it since their childhood. Trying a new sport like this, or rediscovering a sport can be very healthy for the development of a healthy mind. Combining these discoveries/or rediscoveries with a microdosing routine can truly enhance the experience, and create long lasting effects, and growth. So embrace the cold, and get out to your local outdoor rink if you can. You won’t regret it!

Snowshoeing/Hiking
When starting a microdosing journey, you may actually notice your lust for life increasing, and activities such as hiking, running, or going on walks starts to feel more appealing. We urge you to lean into these feelings! Exercise and nature can be so cathartic, however people can often forget this in the long gloom of Canadian winter. The work week may be long and it can seem ideal to spend the weekend on the couch just relaxing. This is great in moderation, however too much of nothing can be detrimental to your well-being. Both sunshine, and exercise are key components to producing healthy brain chemicals to keep you happy! Trying to incorporate new activities such as snowshoeing, or even just taking longer walks in your neighbourhood is a wonderful step to beat those blues.

Classic Pubbing
Although it may not be the healthiest activity for our bodies, going to a local pub for a few pints can be extremely good for our mental health. Socializing is often lessened in the winter months. It is natural to want to stay at home more in the winter, however connecting with other humans and being part of your community is integral to living a fulfilling life. Microdosing can often alleviate symptoms of social anxiety, and can actually help slow down the number of drinks you have when you go out, ultimately leaving you feeling much happier the morning after!
So get out of that Canadian funk, embrace the cold weather and discover a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling winter!
Best Wishes!
